Lee Hyun-woo has recently been cast in the upcoming Korean drama adaptation of the hit Spanish TV series, “La Casa de Papel” (“Money Heist”).

As reported on Hankook Ilbo, the news was recently announced by Netflix, saying that the actor will be playing the Korean version of the character Rio, the youngest member of the team of robbers.

In the Spanish version, Rio is played by actor Miguel Herrán, a young hacker who later becomes Tokyo’s boyfriend.

Speaking about his return to dramas after such a long time, Lee expressed, “To those waiting for the Korean version of “Money Heist”, I will try my best to make it a charming project with an awesome character worth remembering.”

Lee will be joining the likes of Yoo Ji-tae, Kim Yoon-jin, Park Hae-su and Jeon Jong-seo.

Lee, who has starred in dramas like “To The Beautiful You” and “Man From the Equator”, was last seen in a drama in 2017’s “The Liar and His Lover”.
