Fans of all things Korean can now rejoice, as it was revealed that the fastest-growing convenience store, emart24 is expanding into Malaysia.
The trendy store has recently established its first Reserve Store in Bangsar South, where you can get your Korean street food, aromatic coffee, exclusive Korean snacks from its I’m e and No Brand private labels, as well as many K-beauty products which are available through strategic collaboration with OnlyKorea – an authorised distributor of authentic imported K-beauty products.
Said Vuitton Pang, CEO of emart24 Malaysia, “In appreciation of Malaysians’ love for all things Korean, together with our private equity investors Karrin Associates, emart24 Malaysia aims to deliver an experience like no other in the convenience store scene. The brand, recognised for its consumer-first approach in Korea, is an ideal fit for us here in Malaysia and we felt that the time was right for a more progressive approach to convenience stores in our country.”
The emart24 convenience store was first established in South Korea in 2014 and operated by the country’s largest retailer, Shinsegae Group. It was the first of its kind to introduce unmanned convenience stores that include self-checkout kiosks and purchase tracking, and has been growing rapidly to over 5,500 stores in just seven years.
The Bangsar South store will just be the first of more than 300 targeted stores to be launched in Malaysia over the next five years.
On the other hand, Muslim customers need not worry about Halal food as well, as emart24 ensures that all ingredients used for fresh food and ready-to-eat meals are sourced from Halal-certified suppliers.
