Karen Mok recently admitted that she feels extremely guilty for her previous wardrobe issue, and the fact that she didn’t have ample time to address the controversy due to her concert schedule.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who had been busy with her Hong Kong Coliseum show for the past couple of days, recently addressed the backlash against her wearing a Dolce & Gabbana outfit for her music video, “A Woman For All Seasons 2021”, stating that the mistake was made because of her carelessness when it comes to the details.
“I really was negligent. I usually do not pay any attention to what outfit the stylist gives me. As long as they fit me, I wouldn’t ask much. This is a good lesson. You must always pay attention to the most subtle things in the future,” she said.
When mentioned that she worked with Ma Tianyo’s team for the MV styling, Karen stressed that it was a mistake by all parties and not just an individual or a stylist.
“We all have responsibilities as a team. No one wants that to happen,” she added.
As for the MV, which has been removed from all platforms due to the controversy, Karen stated that she has yet to do anything to deal with it.
Karen sparked anger recently after she posted a photo of her wearing a D&G outfit on her Weibo, with many reminding her that the brand’s co-founder Stefano Gabbana made (allegedly) racist comments towards China. The luxury brand also sparked anger among Chinese netizens back in 2018 with the release of its advertising campaign showing a Chinese model struggling to eat Italian food with chopsticks.
