Following news that she has left YG Entertainment, Korean singer Sandara Park recently took to social media to express her thoughts about her departure.
On 17 May, the former 2NE1 member posted a long message online, stating that she left the company with a very heavy heart, after 17 years of being part of the YG family.
“Those years have been like a dream, filled with immeasurable memories and stage performances with my crew that blew people away,” she wrote.
Fondly known by her stage name Dara, she stated that it was when 2NE1 broke up that she felt like everything had fallen apart. She tried for the past five years to try various genres to restart her solo career, which has now helped her to gain a positive outlook on her work.
“My heart’s greatest desire has always been on stage. Showing that part of me is my way of repaying the love and support of my Blackjacks who have shown me undying love and also the one unfaltering dream I’ve had since I was in second grade,” she continued. “It is with excitement that I look ahead to the new act in my life which could be my biggest challenge yet as I leave my nest.”
Finally, Dara wished her fellow 2NE1 team mates good luck and expressed hope that they will one day reunite.
It is noted that Dara was the last member of 2NE1 to have left YG Entertainment following the group’s disbandment back in 2016. The first member to leave the group was singer-rapper Minzy, followed by vocalist Park Bom, and rapper CL.
