Pia Wurtzbach recently defended the Miss Universe Organisation over netizens’ allegations that the pageant was “bought”.
In a recent YouTube podcast “Queentuhan” with Carla Lizard and Bianca Guidotti, the Miss Universe 2015 stated that she dislikes the notion of being a bad sport when it comes to accepting the choice made by the judges.
“I don’t like that we’re overthinking the competition because we can’t accept the winner or the fate of our candidate,” she said. She also added that “I hope we’ll be good sports.”
Wurtzbach stressed that people should just respect the judges’ decision and accept Miss Mexico Andrea Meza as the new winner.
“The message of Miss Universe and the girls is acceptance, no matter what backgrounds you have. The bad audience are those who are the complete opposite,” she added.
“I’m excited for Andrea and I mean that,” she added.
While she was saddened that Philippine’s rep Rabiya Mateo did not win the Miss Universe crown, the actress stressed that she is happy with the way that the pageant turned out. She is also proud that Rabiya entered into the Top 21.
