It’s here. It’s finally here!
It was announced that the long-awaited “Friends: The Reunion” special is set to debut same time as the U.S. on Thursday, 27 May at 3.01pm exclusively on HBO GO, with a same-day broadcast on HBO at 9pm.
The show, which has been in the works since 2019, will feature the six ensemble cast of “Friends” – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer returning to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank.
The special will be a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show – making it the first time the six cast members reunites in 17 years.
They will also be joined by moderator James Corden and a star-studded roster of special guests as they re-live the show’s fan-favourite and unforgettable moments including David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.
Ben Winston directed the special and executive produced along with “Friends” executive producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane; with Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Perry, and Schwimmer executive produced the special.
The special was first announced in 2019, but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, on 11 April this year, the official Instagram page of the said show suddenly posted a photo of the show’s title on a big screen outside the studio, captioning it, “That’s a wrap! Could we BE anymore excited?!”
