ABS-CBN recently declared their support for Angel Locsin over the issue surrounding her previous community pantry controversy.
The network recently released an official statement about the issue, which read, “ABS-CBN believes in the goodness of the heart of our Kapamilya Angel Locsin, who in her personal capacity has tirelessly helped our countrymen in times of crisis.”
“We admire her commitment to continue serving the Filipino people with selfless dedication and love. We stand by her and thank her for being a shining example of generosity, accountability, and compassion,” the statement added.
Locsin sparked controversy recently after a community pantry that she organised at the Titanium Commercial Building in Quezon City to celebrate her birthday late last week turned chaotic, with crowd growing and the wait lengthening – causing some problems for the organisers and the local government staff to control the crowd for some time.

One of the people who queued to receive goods was 67 year-old balut vendor Rolando dela Cruz, who lost consciousness while waiting and later passed away after being rushed to a hospital. His death was later revealed to be due to “natural causes”.
Locsin has already apologised several times for the incidents in both interviews and her social media posts. She had since stopped posting online, while those who went to the pantry have been asked to undergo COVID-19 tests.
