Wong Cho Lam recently admitted that he will not be making his acting comeback with TVB like he was previously scheduled to do.
As reported on Mingpao, the comedy actor, who was appointed the new TVB Chief Creative Officer in January, confirmed as much to the media during a press conference announcing TVB’s new variety show line-up.
“I am still getting used to the work,” he said regarding his new position. “I now know how to talk to artistes about money issues and contract renewals, but I am still learning and understanding the operation of various departments.”
Wong stated that it was due to his new hectic schedule that he decided to withdraw from his previously announced costume drama project, and instead handed it over to fellow actor Kalok Chow to replace him.
“I think he will perform even better than myself,” he added.
In the same press conference, Wong and TVB newly elected Deputy General Manager in Variety and Programmes Eric Tsang announced the “Nine Pearls Series” – which is the nine revamped variety shows that will be broadcast on the station this year. This includes “Stars Academy”, “Bong Bong Amigo”, and “JSG”.
