Thai actor Mario Maurer’s camp has recently released a letter demanding Filipino comedienne Kakai Bautista to stop using his name for her personal gains.
The demand letter, which was sent to Bautista’s management company Artist Gallery Management by Kwaonhar Nine Nine Co. Ltd., read, “We have been informed of unauthorised use of Mario Maurer name by several events, and it has come to our attention that your talent, Catherine ‘Kakai’ Bautista is the person who continues to use the name of Mario Maurer to attach to herself without consent nor knowledge.”
“Moreover, not only Mario Maurer name but also make the false statement in related to Mario Maurer’s manager,” the letter added.

Maurer’s agency added that by using his name, Bautista was improperly exploiting the name, image, and reputation of the actor and his manager and may be violating existing laws of the Republic of the Philippines and the Kingdom of Thailand.
“Cease and Desist and Refrain from any further use of the name of Mario Maurer and his manager, or any reference to him, directly or indirectly, including but not limited to the uses described herein above,” it added, stressing that they will not hesitate taking legal actions against her otherwise.
The agency also attached copies of news articles in which Bautista spoke about her supposed close relationship with Maurer and her alleged statement saying that the actor was the reason she felt secure amid the pandemic.
It is noted that Bautista first met Maurer while working on the 2012 Star Cinema film, “Suddenly It’s Magic”, and that the closeness between the two had been a source of many entertainment news at the time. The Thai actor’s leading lady in the romantic film was Erich Gonzales.
Bautista had also spoken about Maurer in subsequent interviews, including in 2019, when she revealed in an interview with Boy Abunda that the two last spoke in 2013. She, however, admitted that she had fallen in love with the actor’s “realness”.
Her latest mention of Maurer was in September last year, when Bautista reminisced fond memories with Maurer when they appeared on “Gandang Gabi Vice” in 2012 – the show that first started the whole romance rumours between them.
As for Bautista, the actress, who received the demand letter on Monday, made no mention about it, and instead shared photos of her at the beach, writing, “Too busy loving myself. Too busy being grateful.”
