The Russo Brothers are set to start the sequel to their hit Netflix film, “Extraction”, and part of it may be shot in Australia.
Speaking in an interview recently, Joe Russo revealed that the cast and crew are very excited about the new movie going into production in the near future.
“We like working hard and we like telling stories. We love making movies and we love working with our friends. We’re really excited about “Extraction 2″, and I think that part of that film will actually be shot in Australia as well,” he said.
It was back in May last year that lead actor Chris Hemsworth revealed that the movie reached 90 million households in its first four weeks on Netflix, prompting the Russo Brothers to start outlining the story for the sequel.

The 2020 Netflix movie is an adaptation of Ande Parks’ novel “Ciudad” and revolves around a black-market mercenary who is hired on a deadly mission to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned Indian crime lord. The movie co-stars Randeep Hooda, Sam Hargrave and Golshifteh Farahani. The movie, though set in Bangladesh, was predominantly shot in India and Thailand.

Tom Hanks was also in Australia filming a Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic prior to his COVID-19 diagnosis last year.
