Netflix recently announced the addition of actress Simone Ashley into the “Bridgerton” universe, with the actress playing the new leading lady for season two of the hit Regency Era show.
On 16 February, the streaming giant announced the news on Twitter with a photo of Ashley, writing, “Get ready to fall in love with Simone Ashley, who will play Kate in Season 2 of Bridgerton. Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools – Anthony Bridgerton very much included.”
The news was also shared by Julia Quinn, the author of the Bridgerton series, who wrote on Instagram, “WE HAVE OUR KATE!!! Welcome to #Bridgerton, [Simone Asshley]! I couldn’t dream of a more perfect Kate. I mean, just LOOK at her expression in that first photo!”
It was reported that the next season will revolve around Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest of the family, who in the first season expressed his lack of interest to marry for love.
