Despite the mostly negative reaction to Donald Trump’s presidency and the mixed feelings about Ronald Reagan’s administration back in the ’80s, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is not against the idea of being the next celebrity running for president in the future.
The actor and former WWE superstar, who has been teasing a presidential run in recent years, recently stated that he would consider it in seriousness if that’s what the people wanted.
“Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people…” he added. “So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”
In a 2019 interview at the Sundance Film Festival about a possible run, Johnson said that he was inspired by then-presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ speech.
“[I] thought it was good. Just for me, I lack the experience, I lack a lot of things. Certainly not right now. [But] I’m not ruling it out. I’m not ruling out the idea if I could make a bigger impact somehow, or potentially surround myself with good people.”

Johnson could be a force to be reckoned with if he is to run for president, having the charisma and the admiration of his fans. However, being a president is not just about that, and only time will tell if the actor would establish strong views and policies to present to the public to warrant him a place in American politics.
Although Johnson has rarely spoken about his political affiliations, he did speak at both the Democratic and Republican National Convention and endorsed former President Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012 as well as President Joe Biden in 2020.
For now, the actor is focused on his many films and TV shows, including his NBC sitcom, “Young Rock”.
In short, The Rock is definitely cooking something and we can smell it!
