The newly-titled Datuk Habsah Hassan is honoured to have been given the recognition by the King yesterday on the Federal Territory Day.
The renowned producer and lyricist, who was conferred the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah which carries the title of Datuk, stated that she is thankful for everybody who appreciated her work all these years, adding that everything that she has done came from her own passion and interest in the field.
“Everything that came was through the blessings of God. If one wants to do something, one has to do it in earnest. If you are recognised for it, then that’s good. But if not, it’s still fine. Don’t wait and hope for it because that’s not what it is all about,” she said to Berita Harian.
The most important thing, Habsah added, was for the work to bring benefit to all.

As for her future works, Habsah said that she had just completed working on a sitcom for a Singaporean broadcaster, and is also producing a talk show called “Pentas Seni” for RTM.
“I am still active in writing lyrics and currently writing one for a popular singer. This is my source of income. I will continue to write, if God wills it,” she added.
