Emma Stone is almost unrecognisable in the new trailer for Disney’s “Cruella”,
where she plays the titular character Cruella de Vil.
The actress, who
plays the younger version of the iconic villainess from the 1996 “101
Dalmations” movie, could be seen from the first seconds of the trailer as a
young ambitious woman with red hair, before she slowly turned into Cruella
herself, complete with her black and white hair and the same madness that may
remind one of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.
The upcoming movie will revolve
around a young fashion designer named Estella de Vil, who becomes obsessed with
dogs’ skins until she eventually becomes the terrifying legend known as
Cruella.
The movie, which also stars Emma
Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, and Mark Strong, is directed by Craig
Gillespie of “I, Tonya” fame.
Glenn Close, who played the character in the
1996 remake of “101 Dalmations” and “102 Dalmations” (2000) is the executive
producer.
The movie is scheduled for release on 28 May.
