Songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza and celebrity preacher Ebit Lew were among
the few who recently came to the aid of victims of the floods that have ravaged
several districts in Pahang.
On 5 January, Ebit,
who is known for his many philanthropic activities, took to social media to
reveal that he came to Kuala Lipis from Kuala Lumpur with ten four-wheel drive
vehicles and a boat to reach out to the victims of three evacuation centres with
relief goods.
Ebit Lew braves the flood water to help victims |
“We brought a thousand t-shirts, a thousand praying garments, food, and some
cash money for the victims. What saddened me the most is seeing schools, police
stations, surau, temples, cars, motorcycles, TNB and all the houses – seeing all
of them submerged in water up to the roof. O Allah, this is such a big test for
the people of Pahang,” he wrote.
As for Siti, the singer
shared a video of the crew distributing relief items including rice and mineral
water to several evacuation centres including SK Benta, Rengai, and SJKC Chung
Hwa.
“Stay strong. May we continue to be under the protection of Allah,”
she posted.
Siti couldn’t be in Kuala Lipis physically due to her pregnancy |
In her previous post, Siti expressed sadness over the fact that she couldn’t be
there physically for her hometown Kuala Lipis due to her pregnancy, but stressed
that she will do all she can to help the victims.
