Malaysian pop punk band Night Skies & Visions has recently released their latest single, “Saturday Night”, on all major music streaming services.
Though written since last year, the song took a while to be completed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has halted many productions in the entertainment industry.
Undeterred by the movement restrictions set in Malaysia since last March in an effort to curb the pandemic, the members recorded their individual parts separately, which were then combined into the catchy and fun tune that pop punk lovers can now enjoy streaming online.
A music video, also uploaded recently to the band’s YouTube channel, accompanies the song. Interestingly, the MV was shot before the song was even completed.
The band managed to pre-emptively film it using only the demo as guide back in March, knowing that once the nation went into lockdown, everyone being physically present for the MV filming would be out of the question.
“Saturday Night” will be part of the five tracks in the band’s upcoming EP, set for release this December.
It will mark the 5-piece pop punk band’s second EP, having previously released their first EP in 2017.
Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, the band was formed in 2015 and has since toured the country as well as performed at various music festivals including Tempatan Fest, Rantai Art Festival, Northern Music Festival, and JakCloth Summer Fest in Indonesia.
