Enjoying concerts on the small screen instead of at a specific venue is something that is becoming increasingly common during this COVID-19 pandemic, as more and more people are forced to stay indoors and public gatherings are banned to stop the spread of the deadly virus.

Astro is the latest to join the “stay at home concert” trend, offering a Stay Home Concert channel (Ch 700) for its subscribers to enjoy – for free!

From today onwards until 28 April (though this could potentially be extended if Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO) is lengthened again), the channel will be offering various musical contents from both local and international artistes.
As the channel name indicates, there will be tons of concerts to be aired, which includes the special premiere of “One World: Together At Home” hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.
Concerts from local artistes include “Konsert Gergasi KRU 25”, “25 Years of Sheila Majid”, “Konsert Wings: Best of Rock”, “Konsert Zaman Ramli Sarip 1 & 2”, and “Konsert Throwbaek 2019”, as well as unity and musical concerts by local Indian singers in “Endrume Raja Concert 2017”, “Ellorum Kondaduvom Concert 2016” and more.
International concerts that will be played are “Coldplay Live in Sao Paolo”, “Ed Sheeran’s Jumpers for Goalposts: Live at Wembley Stadium”, “Taylor Swift – Speak Now World Tour Live Concert”, “Spice Girls – Live at Wembley Stadium”, “Eminem – Live From NYC” and many more, including throwbacks icon concerts such as “The Beatles – Live at the Washington Coliseum” and “The Eagles Live in Melbourne”.
Some of the biggest Asian acts such as BTS, Blackpink, EXO, Sammi Cheng and Grasshopper will also be featured.
It won’t be just concerts airing on the channel, there will also be documentaries and entertainment specials such as “Fenomena Gergasi KRU25”, “ BTS Entertainment Chronicles”, “Korek Fizikal” interviews with M Nasir, Yuna, Noh Salleh, Monoloque, biopic special of “Saloma: Mencuri Guruh & Pandang Kaseh” and more.
Kids will also get to enjoy Daiyan Trisha’s “Dee” telemovie and Tong Tong Wonderland concerts “The Five Elves: A Magical Journey Musical Show” and “Happy Castle Live Concert Special”, among others.
The Stay Home Concert channel (Ch 700) can be viewed on Astro TV and On Demand or stream on Astro GO.
In related news, Astro is also extending the complimentary viewing of its movie and news channels until this 28 April.
