Due to growing health concerns as the Coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, several performers who were originally scheduled to hold overseas concerts have either postponed or cancelled their upcoming shows.
Taiwanese star Jay Chou is among the performers who have decided to move their concert to a different date.
Originally slated to hold his “Carnival World Tour Kuala Lumpur” this 29 February at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, the singer has now postponed it to 22 August 2020 (Saturday). The venue remains unchanged.
According to a statement from organiser GHY Culture & Media, tickets bought for the February concert will still be valid for use for the August concert. However, fans who are unable to make it to the concert in August have the option of asking for a refund from this 13 to 27 February 2020.

Meanwhile, K-pop boyband Super Junior’s long awaited “Super Show 8” will no longer take place in Malaysia this 1 March. Rumours of the postponement first broke when SuJu leader Leeteuk posted on his Insta Story last week that the show might be postponed.
Organiser Star Planet has confirmed the postponement today with a press statement, saying that it was “made in view of protecting the health and safety of the artistes, performers, patrons and staff” as well as “due to the travel restrictions put in place which have caused unforeseen impacts on global logistics affecting the planning of equipment shipping process.”
A new date has yet to be announced but the venue is expected to remain the same.
The organiser also assures that “all tickets already purchased will remain valid after the postponement”. However, fans can also request for refund by calling +603 9223 3667 or visiting www.starplanet.com.my for further information.

While the two abovementioned acts only postponed their concerts, another K-pop boyband, Seventeen, has decided to cancel their world tour’s February and March shows altogether.
The cancellation of the band’s “Ode to You World Tour” in Kuala Lumpur and Taipei this month, as well as Madrid, Paris, London and Berlin in March, was revealed by their company Pledis Entertainment on social media.
Just last week, Chinese singer-songwriter Li Ronghao also announced that he was no longer performing in Malaysia on this 15 February. His concert has been postponed to another date, which has yet to be confirmed, though he promised to hold it once the epidemic has ceased.
