As mentioned above, Malaysia’s Zouk Genting will play host to the event next year, having been announced as the new official venue partner for WMW. Other outlets in Genting such as Empire, Redtail, and FUHU will also serve as the backdrop across the weekend.
Aside from Zouk Genting, WMW – dubbed as Asia’s largest electronic music conference and festival – has also included experiential event organiser Plural Asia and electronic music China pioneer Paul Neuteboom in its new roster of partnerships.
Zouk Genting is one the three new partners of Wired Music Week. |
WMW partners for the first time ever with Plural Asia to bring Wired Black, which includes keynote talks, panels, workshops, and masterclasses that focuses on the underground electronic music scene’s growth and expansion.
Apart from featuring top international and Asia-based underground electronic music professionals, these sessions are also co-curated by Sanjeev Raj (entertainment manager Kyo KL), JonnyVicious (music director Pisco & Barrio KL), Adam Mathews (founder Plural Asia) and John Beh (Founder of WMW).
Meanwhile, with Paul Neuteboom, WMW introduces a new pillar, Connect: China, which aims to bridge the Chinese electronic music industry with the rest of Asia. A multitude of Chinese music industry professionals participating in it will discuss issues within the industry, from the point of view of Asia’s global economic leader.
Established since 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, WMW is the first dedicated gathering of professionals ranging from aspiring artists, talent managers and promoters within the electronic music industry. It is held annually, attended by thousands from over 25 different countries.
